Did you know? About £2 billion a year is spent on transporting children from school....but more than 300,000 young people have lost their school transport services since our last survey in 2008.

School Transport Matters

The results now in from our 2016 survey show continued pressure on school transport budgets, with an estimated 350,000 young people losing their school transport since the 2008 survey, mainly those attending faith schools and post 16 students.

There are now wide differences now in what is on offer to young people in different parts of the country - with free travel in London encouraging bus use, but high charges and cuts for rural children in England.
